Overhead DVD player + Moonroof

Will it work? I'm looking at my options for DVD entertainment for my 2 year old daughter. While I really like the headrest monitors, I don't know if I want to shell out that kind of cash. The overhead DVD players are much cheaper, but I don't know if it will work in an 07 Camry with a moonroof. Anyone have any insight?

Probably not the best idea to go with an overhead unit in a sedan (with or without the moonroof). Why not get this slick item offered in the SET region...

That looks like a nice option too. Do you know where I can get more info on this? I'd like to know if I can connect this to the radio. Does it have IR headphone capabilities. Also, does that screen swivel back around so it is protected when not in use?

Huh...how much do you think an overhead system costs? This is a replacement console, essentially..that is made specifically for the Gen 6 Camry.

This same DVD system is for sale at my local Toyota dealership for $699 installed!!!
That price on ebay is too much. Go to your local Toyota and ask them to see how much they charge including installation.

You can always go with a portable dvd player if you're on a budget.

I don't really care for the portable DVD players because many of them have too many wires to get tangled up in. I like things to be neat and clean.

If you're not going to use it every day of the week why don't you invest in one of those monitors/dvd players that strap to the back of the headrest? I realize it isn't the clean look of a dedicated headrest monitor, but it's a cheap alternative and you use it only when you need it. I saw some at Target and I'm sure a place like Sprawl Mart has them. A few hundred bucks is a good value compared to a THOUSAND for a set of Visualogic headrests.

God knows you don't want to put something on your car that will only attract those who will do whatever it takes to get it.

I picked up a DVD player that straps to the headrest for like 90 bucks....single wire for power, 2 yo may not care for a headphone that much anyways

For $100 bucks, that seems like a pretty good idea. How is the quality?
