Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Not that I want to bump this thread, but I was about to purchase the K&N Typhoon air intake system. It seemed this thread is months old, but no results of dyno?
Can someone tell me how much difference would I get from the K&N Drop-In, and K&N Typhoon, as opposed to the Stock air filter? I got a Camry 08 3.5L V6. If I'm gonna pay for these filters, it'd be HP & Fuel Economy, not a big fan of sound, as I prefer a quiet ride, but if the HP & Fuel Economy is good, I don't mind.
Do any of the bolt on intakes have a venturi to speed up the air or increase the pressure?? Being an old jet guy I was curious. Or are they in the throttle body. I have no shop manual yet so i have no idea.

benca1, who works for Toyota Motorsports stated that they dynoed/tested the Typhoon kit on a Camry and found it to produce a little more than 10hp.
yes it was noticable .. you could feel it as you hit the 4200 rpm range but it really came alive when we put it with the new exhuast wow what a difference.. as far a gas it hurt us a bit .. it sounded so good we couldnt stop revving and flooring it .. lol .. very nice intake .. will try and get our hands on the new weapon r intake now so we have something to compare it to .. we arent a fan of the cold air here.. our boys at trd though are all about them ..
So, what kind of exhaust system you guys had? When you said there was a huge difference, how much extra HP you got from the dyno with the intake + exhaust?
noticed a pretty big gain , off the line and when i get to about 5500 rpm's i def feel the wheels slippin out so yeah i seen a hp gain and will post a video of the dyno when i get it which should be in about a week or two

To do Intake and exhaust together was also the recommendation from my local Toyota tech - so, Benca1, what exhaust are you referring too? Borla?
