high beam lights automatically turn on when low beams are turned on?

has this ever happened to anyone? on more than one occassion, my high beams have turned on when i turn my hids on (i don't have it in the "auto" mode). it has occurred mainly after i've unplugged and replugged my hid lights (when i was busy installing them), but tonight when i started up my car and lights, the hids were on. i'm only 25, so i'd like to think this wasn't me acting senile and i had somehow turned them on. any ideas? thanks.

are you sure you didn't accidentally push the stalk in and leave it that way? i'm only 20, but it's happened to me before
