no box is made for any certain kinda trunk unles custom, it all depends on the subwoofer ur going with. but for surely not badnpass.. sealed gives u a more clean bass. bandpass is clean to but more vibration.

On my last car, I had a free-air sub set-up. A 10" holed was cut from the rear deck and a
10" sub was installed there.... It was easy to hide, because the center portion of the rear
deck was a first-air kit box. I just took out the first aid box and replaced it with a wire
mesh grill to cover up the sub. Sealed up almost every inch of the trucnk area with two
layers of Dynamat. Essentially the whole trunk became a subwoofer box...

Don't think I want to do that with my new Camry.... (especially since I plan to use the
fold-down rear seats, so it would not be possible to seal the trunk area)

i have a bandpass in my trunk w/ 2 10's...not good!

Generally too boomy and not enough punch, so I removed the front plexiglass portion and now it acts as more of a ported style box...not so bad.

It's generally based on how much power you can deliver to the subs. ported box requires the least amount of power to push the subs, then sealed, then bandpass requiring the most power. so this is relative to your amp's power.

but to answer your question in simpler words, use a ported box if your amp is shit, otherwise rock a sealed box!

A sealed box is the way to go, but like someone else said, it's more relative to the sub you have rather than the trunk of the car.
