Gen6 My 07 Camry TSX Retrofit *Pictures*

Parts:
TSX Clear Lense B-Bowls Projectors
Philips D2S 85122+ 4300K Bulbs
Philips LVQ 212 Ballast
H11 Wiring Harness

I've just started my tsx retrofit on my SE V6.

I've look at JSM's retrofit and he did the same thing with TSX projectors as well, from: http://toyotanation.com/forum/t170924.html

My progress is just starting on one headlamp for now. I've taken off the lens cover and have already started measure for a bracket first.

But then it looks like I don't quite need to mod the headlamp assembly or the projector itself. I think I might be able to get it with just making a bracket for it to fit on, and try to see if it's level. If anyone else has experience with this, please chime in for suggestions.

Anyone think the stock halogen projectors could fit into the fogs? lol.

I'm working it with this friend of mine, I already have H11 wiring harness from ebay, but he said its not required at all. True?

The problem is that the shroud will not line up with the projector unless you modify the housing to scoot the projector closer to the inner part of the assembly.

agreed
check it multiple times ..... mine ended up being 2-3 mm off centered
just enough to piss me off

make sure you read up on how to have them properly aimed so not to blind people
good luck and post pictures.

I strongly suggest you use the wiring harness..what does the harness look like from ebay?

it bascially draws power from the battery directly instead of your stock wires ..so that the HIDs won't burn your stock wires..

This is the harness I got from Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...133580682&rd=1

Here are just some in progress pictures. I'm still trying to figure out the bracket, but this is with some shoestring and pieces of metal to test it and see how it aims first, so we'd know how far the projector has to be out.

Yeah it does look like I'll have to trim off part of the projector to have it fit fine, but I don't think I need to trim the housing itself.

What did you use to make sure there is no condensation? The rubber grommets wont fit the same.

Test fitment:

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

i would suggest yo actually attach down the projector.

in the pics it looks like you are using a zip tie, and some sort of metal brace thing ....
they might serve purpose while you are working on them, but you don't want all your hard work go down the tubes on the first pothole you hit ....

keep up the hard work tho, it will be worth it

I'm guessing those were merely staging implements for the purpose of photography.

Yeah I used shoe string and some braces temporarily to see how the projectors are aimed on the car. I'll definitely actually attach it to a bracket that I'll make.

I did power it on, and the light is so much better then my stock halogen projectors. I have an RX330 with HIDs as well, and it seems that these are quite a bit better with much more color.

I might considering either selling my stock halogen projectors or use them as fog lights, but then that'll be another retrofit...

That's a real nice color on those projectors. Is the washer mod just putting washers between the lens and the bowl?
