5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Let me first say that I have never really been too much of a fan of tinted taillights, since their main purpose is to alert the drivers behind you if you are braking etc...but anyway...
Is there a tinted or blackout/grayout taillight set available for the Gen5 Camry? The reason I ask is I have just tossed on some Motegi Racing Wheels (color Gun Metal) to match my car, but I feel that the taillights kind of upset the whole gray scheme if you will.
Also, is there a rear caliper conversion kit that anyone would recommend? With the rims instead of hubcaps I realize how crappy the drums look and would like to replace them, but I'm not too sure if I should just get new drums or toss on a set of calipers instead.
--Note--
The scuffs in the pictures on the vehicle are from my dad smacking the garage pulling in and out since 2003 until he finally sold the car to me so I'm also in the market for some clearcoat gray touchup paint!

nice rims, but here's what I did with my calipers and drums from stock I painted them grey so the color matches almost perfectly, cept if you do make sure you clean the calipers and drums with engine degreater or whatever it is, I got mine from advanced auto parts the wohle thing cost me maybe 15-20$ but make sure you clean them or they'll start pealing straight away, right now mine's 2+ months and 5-10k miles and it's been fine through everything :-)
good luck, and I know the rust on the rears is annoying haha that's why I've done mine
Found that picture on JTT, I think that's what I'll do most likely, now I Just need to find time to send in my taillights!
I was quoted $95 plus $20 return shipping and handling if I send in the tails, or $225 plus $20 if I make him go find some for me :p
Nice looking rims/brakes, that paint really seemed to do the trick! I'm just uncomfortable painting my drums/calipers as I have no experience doing it before, but I'll head over to Advance later today and see if they can convince me of how easy it is and I might make a purchase

Hey, thats my car lol! Yeah i got my tail lights tinted by Jons Tinted Tails. They did an awesome job! I had the tail lights and 3rd brake light done with a light tint all for about $170 shipped! I recommend JTT to anyone interested in tinting their tails!
no it was my girl's old mag like glamour or sum shit haha but I saw that before I put the pic up i'm like someones gonna say something haha, ps thats her garage too haha I love it
btw I had no experience either just cover up the spots you dont want painted with paiting tape preferably or anything for that matter mags or newspaper always works good, you can either spra it or get a brush and do it from a can, I think spraying it you get it more even and not as thick on each layer, plus I was kind of lazy heh
