Gen6 Engine Vibration...

I’m probably just being paranoid but I figured I ask away. How much engine vibration do you guys see on your V6 when you keep your car running and look at the engine? Is it a slight visible vibration or is it pretty much unnoticeable. The reason I’m asking is that I compared it with my neighbours new Avalon and the Avalon’s engine seems to be a little less (how shall I say this) active…?...

The Avalon is using premium 91 octane fuel so maybe that has something to do with it…or possibly it’s dampened differently?

Basically ever since I pushed my new baby to the 5,500+ RPM’s (one time when I passed a V6 Accord) I’m feeling regretful that I might have upset it

The engine idles around 700-800RPM's, and there is a slight vibration, but nothing at all compared to my previous cars.

Theres also nothing wrong with reving the engine up high, 5.5K is fine, as long as you arent driving constantly on the red line, your fine.

How much vibration do you feel through your steering wheel and shift stick? I know it's hard to describe but again when comparing to an Avalon, in the Avalon I couldn't feel a thing...but in my V6 Camry I can feel slight vibration through the steering wheel and shift stick. I'll probably drive down to a dealer and compare Camry to Camry...

I generally have a little vibration but to make sure the engine is running after start I have sometimes needed to eyeball the tach to make sure it was running. Very little vibration, but perhaps your young hands are more subtle and sensative than my old claws!

As Ive said before, My 07 SE V6 with 22,000 miles vibrated quite a bit. Compared to my 02 Lexus ES300 with 95,000 miles you cant even tell the engine is running in the Lexus.

I felt the vibration once or twice and after that it became smoothness. A lot of time I was wondering if the engine was on or not

It is ok to go higher rpm. I had hit upto 6100 rpm and i felt the power! VRRROOOOOM.

I know back in the day, that running an engine harder would make it run a bit rough for a short time afterwards. Running hard would clear some of the carbon deposits changing the burn pattern in the cylinder slightly. I'm not sure how much carbon buildup occurs in the current modern engines. Maybe I'll have to try it in my wifes 02 camery and see.
