So I finally get my wheels and tires on and of course the TPMS sensor light is blinking at me and now staying on. I guess I thought it the "TPMS" was interchangable to my new setup.
So my question for everyone is how do I reset my sensors to get them functioning correctly?
Some say go to a Toyota dealer and pay $90 bones to have them reset but I have heard of others obtaining some type of "code" from Toyota to have tire dealers reset them.
I don't have the TPMS sensors installed and the light only comes at random times, but eventually stops. I heard there is a button in the glove box that you press to reset your TPMS
I don't have the TPMS on my wheels but I don't worry about it. I already check my air pressure every two weeks anyways, so I don't need a light telling me that I'm low on air.
A minor inconvinience having that light on my dash if you ask me,
My buddy owns a Les Schwab and they are doin' the work for me.
I hope the reset button works. I get my ride back today with TRD Springs installed, TSW Sakata 18's and Proxes 4 tires 225/45r18- If the sensor light goes off, all is good.

So what is the real story?
Kick me over your thoughts-
Thx-

Did you reset your TPMS as per the instructions in your owners manual? I think your system is looking for the tire pressure of your old setup, and now your new setup is giving a different reading, hence the TPMS light is blinking.

TPMS has proven its worth twice in my case , both in the span of two weeks.

I was worried that my light would come on when I switched rims, but for me unless I drive between 150-200 miles straight, they will not come on. I drive about 50-100 miles per day, and after letting it sit over night, it doesnt come on. I've had them for about 2-3 months and it's only come on once, when I went on a trip up north.

I have a little black tape over the light.
