05 SE Rocker Molding

I just bought a 2005 SEv6 and was trying to put on the factory mudguards. The rear fit good but in the front there is about a 1" gap from the underisde of the mudguard and the body. I found a similar Camry at another lot and it looks like it has some kind of "skirt". I looked at several other 05-06 Camrys and they all seem to have it. My question is, is this supposed to be there on a SE? Is is body colored or grey?,most look body colored, and how likely am I to get the dealer to cover it under warranty or certified pre-owned warranty? The car only has 31k on it and I've had it 3 weeks.
I found a part called "rocker molding" that looks like it. Also if anyone has some closeup pics of it, that would be great...

And another unrelated issue, How do you remove the map light/sunroof controls/sunglass holder in the celing? I'm putting in a Homelink mirror and can't get it off.....

Thanks.. Shawn

It looks like you have the molding. It's the very bottom of the car.Hard to tell but is it body colored? I'm going to the dealer today to try to get them to put it on....

Update!!

Just came back from the dealer and they are supposed to be there and will be covered by warranty!! They also show no color code so I guess they are grey.
