Building 2005 VIP Camry

Got hit by some drunkass on Saturday night, so I need to swap out a bunch of body pieces. Since its under the knife and insurance is paying for some of the parts, I might as well rice it out. I wanna go for this look, or similar...

Now I can get just about any part at cost that I want, but this is my first time modding a camry, I've owned rx7's and 240s and other cars, and this was supposed to be the car I didn't touch, haha.

So I'm thinking about some ksport coilovers, need ideas for a bodykit since I don't know who to look for for these parts...and I'll prolly throw some stockish looking 19"s on it. The car is black, and already has 5% tint, so I wanna stick with the VIP look....god I'm a ricer....

ideas guys, who makes kits and grills and all that shiz?

I didn't say VIP was rice...I just think that modding a camry is, but whatever, rice can be fun

get that, some deep dished full faced plate type of wheels like work or ssr vienna, stretched tires and you'll be on your way to a VIP inspired camry.

checkout vipstylecars.com for more info too

modding a camry isnt rice ... rice isnt defined by the car

rice is defined by the lack of ability to know the difference between ugly and worthless mods, and eloquent and useful mods

a carbon fiber GT wing on a camry ... thats rice
an Erebuni wing on a camry ... thats not rice

rice isnt making a slow car look good

Word, I dont think I wanna drop the cash for the work or ssr's, maybe if I can find them used or something, but for the sizes I would need, I doubt I could find any "cool" wheels. 19x8.5 is a lame size for cool wheels :-/ Maybe some stock DB9 or BMW wheels, 19"s.

Been on vipstylecars for a while now, good site, I was just needing more "camry" type information, and I've never actually seen a camry that I liked, so I thought I'd just build one

^ No you can't, the Crown Athlete is a much bigger car compared to the Gen 5.5 Camry.

It's couple inches wider, unless you're gonna make your camry a widebody.

ahh, thanks for the info

I do need new fenders, but it seems like too much of a pain in the ass.

thinking about that JP kit with some 19" used works or something, found a bunch on vipstylecars (thanks to whoever recommended that site, I forgot I had a login). Also, what is the difference between JP's 02-04 kit with the 05 kit? Would the 04 kit fit fine, I don't see why it wouldn't?

i think between the 02-04 and 05-06 there are minor front bumper changes.
i would go for 18s rather than 19s on the camry to get a more vip styled look. try checking out memoryfab.com, they carry a huge selection of used jdm rims, some very vip.

id go for 18x9" wheels with a low offset. i would rather have the wheels sit in flush than have overly huge oversized rims on the camry. the ksport coils should lower your car sufficiently although i know there are several other manufacturers for the 02-06 camry.

go for something like 215/40/18, falken ziex 512 stretches really well for that vip wheel look.

http://memoryfab.com/wheels/used/a20070523153543/ try that wheel on for size. not a bad price either.

memoryfab, rrr-game, takumiproject, ive been searching those allday, haha

I'm all about flushness, but the camry is such a big car, its almost begging for 19's, especially with a kit. I'd have way more options if I go with an 18x9, but If I do decide to go with 18's, I'll have to be retarded and throw some 18x11's on it...

if you are going with 18x11, you might as well go for 18x12 since you are going to be having to do major body work for it. i know of a local seller here in vancity, bc, selling veilside andrew racing dishes, 18x12 with super negative offsets. black faced too, would match your car perfectly...
