5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was wondering if I could get some feedback on how happy you are with your 2007 Camry's. I am about to make the final deal for 20,000 on a White LE 4cyl is this a good price? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
The local TV ads were offering deals of 17900 for LEs this week, but these are going to be just the basic LE I4 with nothing added. If your prospective car is also devoid of any options then this is a good price for comparison. If you have anything added, and you failed to mention this, then you need to figure accordingly. If you read through the various discussions you will see there is a dicotomy of thought regarding the 4 cylinder versus 6 cylinder versions, and opinions can be heated. I would offer to you that before you buy anything that you should test drive both so you can make an educated decision.

Ok the car I am looking at does have an extra package that gives me i mats, pin striping, and a few other things that I am blanking on right now. Thanks for your help. I just wanted to make sure that people were generally happy with their decision.
I will check into this but I know in Feb. when I bought my Tacoma it came with stock mats but when I upgraded to the TRD off road package I got the TRD mats so I think it is the same kind of thing but I could be wrong I have not done the extensive reaserch for this car like I did with my Tacoma. And I also do not think that the CE, and LE's come with mats but again lack of research on my part makes me less knowledgable than most of you.

And if your luck is anything like mine, the dealer will only have one vehicle at that price and it will have already been sold by the time you get there. I used www.carsdirect.com do get a good idea of a fair price because my patience with local dealers was running short.
I just looked at kbb.com and I would guess that a good price for the car would be closer to 19,700. Dealer also has to add in regional advertising and that can bump the price about 600. $19700 would not be a low ball price and he would go for this rather than lose a sale.

Thanks for this info I think I am going to try to talk him down some more when I go in to make the purchase.
I get the impression that stuff like pinstriping is a "dealer installed" accessory, and potentially you are getting charged silly money for it.
If I can make a recommendation - build your car on toyota.com and shoot for close to it, ignoring dealer installed stuff - pay close attention to what toyota.com charges you for, and what the dealer charges you for (mats etc), and pick them out.

When I bought my car a few months back the dealer wanted to charge me retail for any extras when i was hopeing for a package deal. It turned out to be a better deal just to buy the car mostly striped and upgrade though discount sources later This which is the reason I ended up with steel wheels. The dealer wanted way more for toyota aloy wheels than it would cost to buy custom aftermarket wheels..
