OEMValue Navigation Questions (Speed Sesor Related)

Well thanks to all you fine people on here I have found OEMValue and I have a new 07 XLE Carmy that I want to install it in.

However before I shell out the cash to buy this thing I have a few questions.

I want to be able to install this with out messing with the cables in the car phyiscally. My reason behind this is if I need warranty work done I want to be able to slap the old 6disc in and not have the dealer know the car has been altered in any way.

Is it possible to get this to work without splicing the wires and if so can someone show me how.

I also need to know how to get into the media console with out messing anything up.

Thanks,
Darkstar

As long as your car is JBL 6-Disc ... then the car is PRE-WIRED for NAVI! Search the forum for my upload of the 07 Camry FSM or go to camrymanuals.com and download the interior manual & it will give you detailed instructions on how to remove the center stack to swap out the units!

So its just a swap in swap out and the Navi will work? What about the antenna for the Navi to tell where your vehicle is/traveling to?

Not-prewired!

It is worth noting that the XLE models are definetly not prewired for the factory NAV system. Some of the wiring harnesses from the JBL system can just be plugged in, but for full functionality of the NAV system a moderate amount of rewiring...as well as addition connectors... is needed. Plus to get turn-by-turn guidance you need to run a wire to tap into the speed sensor as well. A diagram showing how to rewire the harness is available on the oemvalue.com website.

Plus its also worth noting that these NAv systems from OEM have no warranty at all...the company will not respond at all once you buy it from them! It will be obvious to any service tech that this is an aftermarket addition so its a gamble.

It is not pre-wired and there is a fair amount of work. Not really hard. If you've ever installed an aftermarket stereo you can do it. I don't really undestand the warranty thing. You obviously won't have a warranty on the Nav but I don't believe it will effect the warranty on the car.

I installed the Nav and a back-up camera and I did a step-by-step write-up with pictures that some have used if you are interested let me know and I'll give you the link to download it.

Don't be scared.....

Man that looks like a lot of work. I wish someone who has done this before lived near me.
