5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
1) Yes
2) Under the passenger seat I believe, I forgot how much watts, probably 400W according to how Toyota advertises their JBL system.
3) Front are all the same for most Toyotas now, 6x9s w/ tweeters and 6.5s in rear I believe.
Congrats on the new car! Pictures?

What I've typically done in the past is buy a 400'ish watt amp for interior speakers anyway, and add a second for subs. The factory amp might save me the trouble of buying one, depending. I havent decided yet.
400 watt amp for interior speakers? im pretty sure you are talking about peak wattage, not RMS. in that case, no offense, but i think u should do more research on car audio. check out bcae1.com
Amp power is only important in relation to matching it's clean RMS output to your speaker's effeciency and power requirements.
The factory amp is 440 watts peak, but I have been unable to find any THD specs. The speakers are not a direct fit with any standard off the shelf (COTS) aftermarket item because of the mounting set up. It will require a custom bracket. IIRC, Crutchfield indicates this as well.

Of course, do you have exterior speakers or something?
let me clarify.. he is saying that he has 400 watts on his interior speakers.. emphasis on 400 watts.. like i said, he must be talking about peak wattage because not even sq/spl cars have 400 watts for components. that is why i said, if this is so, he should do more research on car audio b/c saying you usually get a "400ish watt amp for interior speakers" is a pretty noobish statement..

Yes, I am talking about peak, not RMS. I dont know what the stock amp puts out RMS, which is why I started posting here for details.
Let me explain better, hopefully non-noobish. I have my old subs from my old car (2 x 12" Kicker Comp VR) that run on a seperate amp, and for my front door\rear deck speakers, I generally run your typical 4 channel 70-90RMS amp with a filter to keep the lower tones out.
What Im trying to find out is if I can get by on the stock amp for the door\deck speakers (still with an inline bass blocker) or if I'd have to replace it.
i beleive you only get a factory amp/sub if u get the JBL audio upgrade. and your car should have 6x9 front and rears. Im not sure about the size of the tweeters but if you search i bet you could find it.
