5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So something really weird happened yesterday while I was driving. The unit was playing a MP3 cd and it the volume kept going up and down. When it first occured, I didn't give it much attention and thought I was just hearing things. After I heard it again, I saw that the volume was in fact adjusting itself and this time I had a passenger and he saw the same thing. I was being affected by my acceleration; when I pushed down on the gas pedal the volume would go up, when I let go of it the volume would go down. So it was jumping from volume level 4 to 10 or there about. At first I thought it might have been the CD, so I changed it to the radio and it did the same thing. The volume went all the way to level 20.
It hasn't occured after that, but I haven't taken the car out today. Has this happened to anyone else and should I bring it to my dealers attention?

Other than the ASL no. Double check that it was indeed off.

Funny thing is I have my ASL set to on, and I've never seen or heard and difference in speaker volume, nor have I seen the volume adjust itself automatically, even going 80 on the expressway. WTF?
Isn't it funny how this world works; when something is suppose to function it does not, when it not suppose to it does. It hasn't acted up again and this time I'm sure the ASL is off. Maybe I'll turn it on to see what happens today.

I have the non-JBL system, I was in the same boat with you until I have the JL amp install with all four 6x9 JBL speakers. Now I have to turn off my ASL because it get louder and louder especially the bass when I drive 80+ mph (which is normal speed in SoCal)
