Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So far having a terrible time with toyota service, fender is apparently giving a ticking noise, I think I need the TSB for the ECU update too (I4)
Over a month ago I took it in to get my seat belt replaced (I went to the dealership 3 times, 1.backordered, 2.order in wrong part, 3.ordered in I had to call myself).
I told them about the ticking noise they said they need it for an entire day or more, so I requested a loaner(they said they are all out on maintenance... yeahh...) I was supposed to get a call when a loaner was "available"
Mind you this whole time I'm trying my best not to be an ass to the service advisor cause then they would do even less...
I still haven't got a call yet (its been over a month) and don't know what to do cause I know if I call the service dept. I'm gonna sound totally pissed off.
Hardly think I'm being unreasonable here, seems like bramalea toyota was too busy moving to their new location....
Suggestions anyone? Should I call the dealership again or go through corporate?
EDIT: Also to add not sure if this is normal I never noticed it with our 02 camry, when idling stopped there are significant vibrations from the engine or tranny, when I put it in neutral they reduce...

i would try and deal with a different service dept. and tell the dealership that you bought the car from that thats what you are doing. they will probably call the service dept up and get them moving their asses. if not, i would still go to a diff service dept
Call Toyota Customer Care. They will take care of you. Yeah dealership service dept's are getting worse and worse. They just want to get you the hell out. I have brought my car in many many times, and I am treated like some kind of criminal for doing so. LOL! But Toyota Customer Care is great!

i really think it depends on the service dept. the one i go to treats me with the utmost respect. ive never had a problem with them giving me a hard time or being rude to me
Hi Dilan,
It's time you need to talk to the service advisor's manager which the Customer Relation Manager aka Service Department Manager (SDM). Sit down and present your case why you will go to another dealer and/or will leave Toyota and will complaint to Toyota Corporate.
Give the SDM a last chance to fix thing the way it should be before you jump ship. Good luck and keep us posted.
ps. Be firm and professional throughout the discussion. Make sure you request a face-to-face talk only. Don't do it over the phone. Ask the SDM to include the Service Advisor in this talk to avoid "He said, I said"

Good luck with the Toyota Cust Care phone number or the WEB site they have for posting such issues. Dealership cust. reps are employees of the dealership, so you can guess how that will go.
Your warranty is good at any Toyota dealership.
You "do not" have to use the dealsership you bought the car from. Some dealers will BS you on this.
Your best bet is to call every other dealer ship in your area and ask to speak with the service mgr.
Do not waste your time with service writers. They are trained to push people away. Keep calling 'til you find a good attitude; then take the car there.
Write a personal letter to the owner(s) and GM of the problem dealership and relate your experiences to them. Do this after someone else resolves your problem.
Now what do you mean by "ticking fender"??

Come out my way and go to the one in Bowmanville, it's only 3 years old and has that "small town" feel. They treat everyone with respect, always kind, always willing to help.
When accelerating or going over bumps or stuff like that (not even hard accel.) there is a ticking noise that soudned liek it was coming from the passenger side dash. I told them to check it out and thought it may be the tabs like in the TSB
Advisor told me they "narrowed" it down to the fender and would hafta take the bumper off...
Really no idea...
Thanks for all the replies, I have no time today but for sure saturday or monday I am gonna give toyota corporate a call and see what they say.
I jsut don't want to end up sounding like an asshole because I know how that is in retail but I'm genuinely having problems.

ok The Two Service Advisors from Bramalea Toyota(now Northwest Toyota) are asswipes, Guess that dealership is too busy moving into their new building....
I've been really busy at work ended up going to the dealership last week in person to see if Majid(the service advisor I am supposed to be dealing with) was there apparently the bastard went on vacation. I left a message with Raj the orther service advisor to tell Majid to CALL ME when he is back(which was supposed to be tuesday aug 7th) surprise surprise I haven't got a call yet.
I explained to him that I've been waiting 2 MONTHS for this shit to be fixed!
I even called toyota canada corporate, and all they said is they will file the complaint and
I have to talk to the head service manager there.
I will end up calling him tomorrow.
Any1 recommend some reputable dealerships in the GTA that will provide me the WARRANTY service without making me wait excessively or give me bullshit answers?
Thanks for the help, need to vent somehow(by the way I was abrupt but in no way rude to the bastard ass service advisors)
Waiting for Fender ticking to be fixed(no idea), engine control update for I4, and my door sill scuff plates(i know these are on backorder)
