Gen6 Canada owners of the new V6 chime in please

I was wondering how many km's you get from one full tank of gas?

The new V6 is one of the cars i'm considering when I might be getting a new car next year. My Gen 3 V6 currently gets around 440km a tank of 60L. Wondering how that compares to the new car. I'm asking for Canadian owners because I heard that the US uses different type of blends in their gas.

My friend has a new 07 V6, he gets 350km a tank which I find rather outrageous and is scaring me away from it.

With SE V6 I can make it from Toronto to Montreal on one tank (65L). I think that's 600km or something around there.

Done it twice.

That's assuming a constant 120km/h cruising speed.

I've also made it down to NYC on a tank and a half.

If I am driving strictly in the city, then I can get anywhere between 250 and 350km on one tank. That's supposing that at least half the time the AC is off.

You cannot expect mileage miracles out of a 6-cylinder engine. But I find that for a full-size sedan, the Camry V6 gets excellent mileage. And unlike its import competition, it slurps regular gas!

I think that 4-cylinders are only efficient in the city no matter what EPA ratings say. The reason being is that when you get up to highway speeds, it will take more effort for a 4-cylinder to maintain or increase the speed as compared to a V6 which can do at a lower gear and lower RPMs.

Similarly, a 6-cylinder will also bring in much worse mileage in the city because it produces too much power with each accelleration run.

Thanks guys.... scary gas mileage, and I thought I was doing bad with 440km all city driving.

I was somewhat expecting a newer V6 to give better efficeiency, guess not. The way I drive, I would be lucky to break 400km on the new V6 then.

And yeah, I forgot I made a thead here lol.....

I know you said Canadian's only, but my '94 V6 I averaged around 18-20MPG, and the same driving with my current '07 V6 I get 21-23MPG (mostly city). The new V6 gets great highway mileage though, i've been able to reach 35MPG when staying at a constant ~55MPH.

I get average 450 km in city driving depending how the traffic goes. Some area have a heavy traffic and some other time less traffic flow.

I had analyzed using which gasoline gives a better mileage. I tried Sunoco for a month and that gives me 350 to 400 km. So, I switched to Shell and that gives me a better gas mileage. As Sunoco using ethanol-enhanced gasolines and gives me a poor rating for mileage. I know using ethanol burns quicker than a gasoline. Correct me if I am wrong.

So I trade equal or better mileage for 50% more hp and a bigger car..... seems like an ok deal. Everyone seems to be getting some vastly different numbers.

I have tracked my gas mileage in my 07 SEV6 since I bought the car. My best tank gas mileage was 32mpg and my worst has been 24mpg. My average since start has been 26.3mpg. (I have 9500kms on my car so far). But I have a heavy foot and love the acceleration of my SEV6 so I imagine I could increase that to around 28-30mpg if I were to take it a bit easier.
