Gen5 Thinking about upgrading suspension to TRD

Gonna be changing out my suspension to TRD spring and strut combo, wanted to know what i should expect before the install.

Do 03-up camrys have front/rear adjustable camber bolts?

Currently have stock springs and struts, will need any and all advice from the pros here. Heh, 1st project.

Btw if you want to know the wheels currently they are stock 15's but will go to 17's as soon as this is done as well.

Thanks!

There are no TRD struts. Only springs.

You're not going to need a camber kit if you drop on TRDs. Just drop it and take it to an alignment shop. The drop is nowhere near low enough to require a whole lot of negative camber.

Hi -- thanks for the info. Anything I need to know before I got the springs? will the stock struts support it?

I heard the eibach are a good brand for springs. But people are mentioning tiens too. I'm not dropping as much, just something different. If I need new struts, I've heard neuspeed or the same brand for coilovers. I think i'll save money with just standard spring and struts.

Thanks for the info on the camber kit.

money saved money earned.

TRD is good, tein is a lil bit lower, trd will work with stock struts as will the tein's I believe, TRD are 1.2'' drop on the front 1.4 in the back and ride good, much harder much better handling I also suggest front strut and rear sway bar great handling after those, coilovers are better I've seen someone with ksports running around just recently here check the threads for more info if you want ps do a search there's many threads on this before

I have been riding on stock struts with my Tein S. Tech springs for about 25,000 miles now. I know that in the long run, my stock struts won't last quite as long as they might have had I not lowered the car, but they'll last me plenty long. I lowered the car with 60,000 miles already on the original struts, and I've got 85,000 now. There is no problem with lowering on stock struts as long as you don't drive the hell out of your car and fly over bumps and dips.

TRD springs offer a slight drop, and improve handling slightly as well....if you dont have an SE, i'd suggest upgrading to the SE struts for more of an improvement in handling

im personally sticking with TRD on my camry....they work wekk with stock struts and wont mess up my ride or make it hard for me to clear dips and bumps

^Teins don't make it hard for me to clear dips and bumps, nor have they messed up my ride.

wow lots of info --

thanks all -- I've done some searches on these type of threads, but a lot of it is not about the car i'm in and they are sitting in a tacoma forum.

I guess now it's either tien or TRD.

Though no one has had an opinion on eibachs. I drive pretty light, I don't hit bumps like there's no tomorrow and I don't fly through dips.

I just want to be able to make hard turns. If that's not going to effect the struts as much I'd go for it.

I will probably by a rear or front swaybar, but not both unless it's cheap.

anyone have places where I can find this equipment -- ebay has been a dying friend =P.

I looked on tiretrack, but nothing good came up.

thanks!

i'm running eibachs, great ride, excellent drop, couldn't be happier.

and for your info, TRD springs are rebadged eibach, in simpler terms TRD=eibach.

then, instead of 17's, get yourself at least 18's.

yeah i just installed TEIN springs on my 03 camry and it was a hell of a job just time consuming but pretty easy. TEIN said it SUPPOSE to drop 1.7 front and 1.5 rear but for some reason the rear is 1/2 lower than the front. I have a 15'' sub in the back took it out but not a whole lot of difference. the ride is stiff less body sway and nice on turns and pretty smooth ride on smooth roads.

you should consider H&R... with H&R you get a 1.4F/1.3R drop with minimal sacrifice in ride quality...
