is it possible to use the factory pre-wired connector for foglights on '07 Camry LE?
When I had the front bumper removed from my '07 LE, I noticed a couple of connectors
behind the bumper. They're for the factory foglight. My LE didn't come with foglights, but
I guess Toyota puts foglight connectors in all the Camrys...
Using a voltmeter, I detected no current from those connectors.(in any of the headlight
position)
Is there a way for me to use these connector, if I order a set of factory foglights/covers?
thanks!

My SE's fog lights are on a separate switch next to the headlight switch on the same arm lever thingy. I would imagine from there they go through a relay (which will also be used to disable the fog lamps when you turn on the high beams) and then to the fog lights and dash indicator? So there should not be voltage at the fog light harness plug when you turn on the headlight switch unless you have a foglight switch turned on as well. I know on some GM vehicles, the ECM has to be programmed to be able to add fog lights. Since your LE has the wire harness plugs and no fog lamps, it must be pre-wired so the dealer can easily install lights and a new light swith arm to get fog lights on your car? Or maybe standardization to save costs of having multiple light wire harnesses? That's my $0.02.

I used those connectors on my '07 LE. But if you want to use those, you have to also buy a factory turn signal stalk/lever off of an XLE or SE because they have the stock fog lamp switch that connects to the factory wiring/relay. In order to put on the turn signal stalk, you have to remove your steering wheel. Then after all that, make sure you have a relay in place in the fuse box. It'll work after that.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

I just took off my steering wheel to look at the light stalk.
Do I only need these 4 items to add factory foglight to my LE? Just got a quote from
my Toyota dealer's parts guy. $187.29 for all of these parts.(before the 15% Costco
Exec member discount)
(1) two Toyota foglights (2) two foglight covers (3) light control stalk from XLE (4) foglight relay for the fusebox
Does the XLE's light stalk(which included foglight on/off) simply replaces my LE's light stalk?
Are there other cuttin/re-wireing required?
damn whitechocolate, just realized now you have a gen6 cam and a lexus as well. good for you!
thought i was ballin'. hahaha
same here....
new Camry and Lexus.... as well a Mercecedes W202 C-class and a Lincoln Navigator...
alll owned since new... I never sell/trade-in my cars... I just keep driving them forever, untill....
new Camry only has a few hundred miles, the other three each has 150,000 to 192,000 miles.
(all untouched original engines/transmissions)

That's a nice approach, but you must be dying from the insurance for 4 cars in total...unless you make gobs of money (in which case that doesn't apply).

Not really.... but I guess it depends on my record.
My new '07 Camry LE only added $263 per year to my exisiting policy.
The other three range from $350 to $490 per year. ($590 being the Navigator,
probably because it's a large SUV)
My policy is 1mil/1mil and comprehensive & $1000 dedutible on all vehicles.
Of course, I have NEVER filed an insurance claim in my life... except a windshiled
claim for my Lexus 5 years ago

Yup. Thats all you need. And yes, the XLE's stalk just goes in the place of your stock one. It goes over the steering shaft and clips into the windshield wiper stalk.

Well you must have a great driving record, aside from good claims record. Then there's the factor of how many drivers can drive each vehicle.
My policy is also 1mil/1mil with a grand deductible. But I have lots of speeding tickets under my belt. Just waiting for a court date this month in fact.
It's strange how the Navigator costs the most to ensure. In my family, we've had several sedans and SUVs. The SUVs have ALWAYS been far cheaper to ensure no matter what kind they were.

thanks for this thread...I was just looking at 07's yesterday and asked the sales manager if foglights could be added to an LE as an option...they aren't in the option catalog, so he said he didn't think so. My guess it is cheaper to have a common harness. Good to know this can be done if I go this way!

I just had a thought.... if I get the XLE stalk, will the foglight go off when I turn on my high-beams?
That's what my Lexus RX does... annoys me somewhat...
If that's the case, I'll just get the factory Camry foglights/covers, but use an aftermarket
relay/switch.(Hella, for example)

Yup. Thats how it is going to work. Same thing with my Gen 5, my Gen 6, and my RX. Thats just how Toyota designs it. I think there's a legal reason for it, but I never bothered to look into it. I almost never use my high beams, so it doesn't bother me. Especially in my Gen 5 with the HID retrofit.
