On the XLE, A5 goes to a hood latch sensor which shows "Hood Open" on the multi display.

Probably not used on the strippers............

I thought strippers always have their hood open? Or is that only during private dances?

it's the hood switch for the remote engine start. it's prewired on everything but CE's and a few unfortunate LEs...

it's there to make sure your hood isn't open when you use the remote start...

The switch also triggers the XLE's security alarm if the hood is opened while the alarm is armed.
