Gen6 Would painting the calipers void warranty?

Hey guys, i just got a new V6 Camry SE. Just ran about 1400km on it and i must say its a nice ride . As the title say i was planning to paint my own calipers but i wasn't sure if it would void my warranty , incase if anything were to happen to my brakes. So i was wondering if anyone can help me out. There are so many things i would love to do to it. By the way i was just wondering, wat kind of mod's did you guys do first to your new ride? Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

A dealer may try to deny warranty if there is a brake related problem due to the excess heat that will be sustained in the caliper from the paint.

Plus why would you want to cover up the beautiful Aluminum caliper anyway?

You shouldnt have a problem with any dealer. Besides they are brakes so most of the problems you have, like, worn out pads or rotors, are not covered under warranty anyways.

In order to void the warrenty, the dealer has to prove that it was an issue because of the paint, I think that's be kinda hard to prove. Aren't the calipers already painted anyway?

Just paint them.

All ricers should have red calipers so they look like wannabe race cars.

I never understood that obssesion with painting brake parts, but if its what you want then go for it....as long as you do it the right way. Dont just take the wheel off and blast the rotor and everything with paint, which many people seem to do.

.....and you want to use a heat resistant paint. When the caliper gets hot, and it will, that red paint could change shades on you. Unbolt the caliper, clean it thoroughly to remove any grease and brake dust, and mask off the hydraulic line so it looks decent. Find a little Toyota logo/TRD logo and glue it on the outer surface and then clear coat it.

As indicated above, the paint will not allow heat to dissipate as well. Not a good idea, but it's your car.

The warranty issue will depend entirely on a given dealers take on the issue. I wouldn't bet 5 cents that you would get a dealer to replace calipers after you had painted them.

You won't know 'til you try to get them replaced under warranty, but a bigger problem will be why you had to get them replaced.

Did they fail to work?

If so, you and others may already be pushing daisies.

they sell kits with good durable paint... only thing is that the brush is a POS, so go to a local hobby store and buy a few brushes
