5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Toyota doesn't offer the first oil change free for the Camry.
Many dealers do that so that you start your service there. It's given to you so hopefully you have a good experience and you keep going back. So yes, you will have to have it done by the dealership that you purchased the vehicle from.
The "free oil change" is not issued by Toyota, but the dealer you bought the car from.
Sounds like you don't trust the dealer and you have good reason not to.
Whatever you do, pull the dip stick and make sure you really have oil B4 departing from the dealer with the "free oil change".
Do not be surprised if the oil level is way over the top of the full mark. Many dealers use auto-fill systems which have a tendency to over-fill vehicles.
its a special given by the dealer you purchase the car at....another incentive to buy/perk of buying
so yes, you have to take advanatge of that offer with your purchasing dealership
yes free oil changes. i get free oil changes for life at my dealer. as long as i own the car oil changes are free. i haven't gone in yet cause i only have like 400 miles on my car but i'll let you know what my fisrt experience is like.
I stopped by a Toyota dealer this morning to ask about something else.
(not the dealer where I bought my '07 Camry)
The service advisor said the 1st free oil change is only at the dealer where
I bought the car from.... however, he will be glad to give me a free oil change
anyway...... obviously they don't care about the oil change, which probably
cost them just a few bucks.... what they really want is for me to go to their
dealership for future services and warranty repairs...

That's great!
Many dealers take customer satisfaction very seriously.
Mike Murrell hates all dealers and is constantly knocking them. I think that's his mission.
Now you can get your first oil change at the place you discovered and get your second one at the dealer you purchased your car at! Don't forget to rotate your tires.

What dealership is giving that away, I think I was taken. Where in FLA?

My brother got this when he bought his 02 Toyota Corolla in Deerfield Beach and my sister got a bunch of free oil changes when she got her 07 Camry at the same dealer.Got to find out they weren't doing the oil changes everytime it went in.Sad but true.
When offered Free Oil Changes always check the car before leaving the dealer to make sure it is nice and clean.Always check the oil before it goes in and if it come back out the exact same way like ours did you know they were getting over on you. When confronted they did nothing but make excuses and said they could not investigate it any further.
