5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
1st Place: Honda Accord EX-L V-6 Sportier dress, ritzier cabin, and powertrain and chassis on par with any of its foes.
2nd Place: Toyota Camry SE V-6
Best of the rest, this player will certainly return to fight another day. Perhaps in a hybrid persona?
Sportier dress? Psh. Looks like a Hyundai to me. It even said the Camry handled better than the Accord. As for the cabin, the Camry didn't even have navigation, and just because the Accord had more buttons, they think it's upscale. BMW has a lot of buttons. Sure it's upscale, but that doesn't make it easy to use. The Camry also wasn't equipped with leather. This is bullshit.
i was somewhat surprised. the fanboy in me said toyota has a chance against honda, but the realist in me says that the accord is released a year after the camry every generation- go figure.
they're both well engineered cars. kudos to honda.
Id still take the camry over the honda any day, no matter what any magazine says. Ive commuted in a new accord and the ride is harsh! I even asked my co-worker if his tires werent over inflated because I could feel/hear every crack on the 10W! I'll give him one thing though, the AC was COLD!

I'm no Toyota fanboy...I actually praise Honda for their Civic Si. Toyota actually needs to make a competitor for it. And no, the tC doesn't even come close. But this Accord...I honestly don't see why it got first place. Maybe the fit and finish is a little better, but that's about it. Who cares if it's a PZEV. The side profile looks like a wannabe TL, the back says Hyundai Sonata, the front looks as if someone was designing it and stopped halfway, and the dash screams Infiniti. What happened to the Accord Concept that was shown a few months back? That was way better than this.

I think that concept was the coupe. I don't care much for the accord sedan, i want to see how the coupe will do.
I really don't like the dash layout of the Honda and the shifter and parking brake look like cheap crap. I honestly think the Camry interior looks much better and is easier to navigate.
Both are great cars I'm sure. Honda has always been a top manufacturer as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not really interested in ever buying either one so it really doesn't matter to me.
Looks like honda went with the civic syle shifter which does not fit very will with the rest of the interior.... one of the biggest reasons why i chose the camry was the interior layout. I like it clean and simple. and IMO, the navi screen sits way too far in on the dash. seems to me honda tried to hard and forgot to be clean
Many car magazines have a preference towards the Accord. Motor Trend (and definetly Car and Driver) think the Accord is sportier. How, i don't know. I've been in an Accord and it was about the same as the Camry (except louder and harsher). I guess those last two make the car sporty. Whatever. I do like the exterior of the new Accord. A very nice evolution of the last design. However, the interior isn't all that great. Looks like a Civic on crack. Toyota did much better as a whole with the new Camry. BTW before I had my Camry, I was an Accord fanboy.
