Gen6 Camry Interior LED/Cathode Lighting Advice

So I'm basically a newbie to this interior lighting stuff. I've figured out some information by looking at other threads and websites online.

Basically, I'm lookin to get some blue glow lighting in the footwells, front two seats, and maybe back two as well.

Goin for an effect similar to these photos, only good ones I could find.

I believe those are cathode tubes, I'm willing to settle for LEDs since I believe they are cheaper and produce a similar effect?

I wanted to get some more information from some of you guys who have either done it on their Camrys and/or are more knowledgeable on the subject.

What should I go for, LEDs or Neon/Cathode? Pros and cons of each? Pricing? Installation ease? And where should I order them from?

Thanks in advance, really appreciate it.

Cathodes are brighter, but LEDs give a better sharper color.

Both are jsut as easy to install, you just have to wire it to the door courtesy light and have a relay so you can turn it on and off at your own leisure.

They are in fact functional. Like let's say you dropped something, and it's way down there and you can't see. Besides, I wouldn't even turn it on while I'm driving.

/\ lol! if you drop something and you need electric blue glowing cathode tubes in order to find it you seriously shouldnt be behind the wheel of a car. dont make excuses, call it how it is: a strictly cosmetic thing. a very very gaudy cosmetic thing.

You just made his point. California. Swap meet. Blue neon under car. Ghetto. Nobody should be doing this to a new car. Give it 15 years, 3 coats of paint, hyraulic lift kit and polished chrome wheels. Then add the blue lights.

Those were mine... one of the first things I did.... I have white cathodes now.. and they are REALLY helpful at night... I have them wired to the dome light so it funtions as if it came factory... and people compliment me all the time... what ever you do... go with white... they give the classy look
