5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I came across such a good deal on craigslist that I had to get these wheels + tires.
They are 18"x7.5 Panther Valera with Fierce HP 235-45-18 which is really close to stock tires.
I gained quite a bit of tire side wall compare to my 245-35-20 which make the car ride really nice now. The reason I got them for so low price is they were so dirty. It took me 2 hours just to clean the wheels and tires. The tires still have over 90% thread to go. There are no scratch nor rust at all on the rims.
Now I just need to lower the ride with TRD springs or Intrax springs. Still undecide which springs I will go.
Here are the pictures. They don't look as nice as my 20" but for the ride quality I'm fine with it.

Looks good! But you reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaally need to drop it now lol...i'd go TRD from what i've read and got commented about Intrax aren't that great.
Are you keeping the 20's? i'd keep them and see if they fit with it lowered
I'm gonna see if the 20" will fit after the TRD drop. If it does will ride until the tire have about 30% of thread left to go then I will sell the rims.
Already missed the way my 20" sit on my car.

Wow...guess the 18's does look small on da camry...but anyhow congratz on the new wheels....
J/C...so you gonna keep your 20's or get rid of them?
My 18" looks small because of the tire size. A lot of people go with 225-40-18 with TRD springs for 2 reasons: 225-40-18 is cheaper and smaller tire side wall makes the rims look bigger. But I am more concern with quality of the ride that's why I went down from 20" to 18".

TRD springs would really help the look and you would still have a decent ride. My parents are old but think my Camry rides like a dream. My Mom has a stock Highlander Limited AWD with factory 17's and thinks my Carmy rides much nicer. I think that you would be happy with TRD springs.
You have one of the cleanest and nicest looking Gen 6's on TN, that's for sure.

Thanks man. I value your opinion. So you think a TRD springs will still have quality ride?
I just took my car for a short drive and those 18" really give my car the just right quality ride. Not too soft like stock and yet not too harsh like the 20".
Let me know. Thanks again.

^^he went to 18's for his family so they would be more comfortable on long hauls.
Thank you for help me out there.
I've been looking for the 18" because when I had the 07 Camry as rental for 3 weeks, my wife and I realized how rough & harsh the ride with my 20" rims. So I told my wife if I find a good deal on craigslist for a set of 18" then I will buy it.
Now that I drive around with this 18" I like the quality ride and the look still not bad. It's the best of both world I guess. I think I'll keep the 18" on.

those rims are awesome! but man lammy you've spent so much $$$ on swapping rims... you could've used all that money and traded in your 4 for a V6
lol, even if I trade the i4 for the v6 I still find myself buy rims here and there!
I just can't help it. But at least I don't go out and buy brand new rims and tires. I just buy used from craigslist.

ahh put the 20s back on!! lol, the 20s wil fit with the trd springs, my friend has a camry on 22's lol..
You've gotta be kiddin' me. 20" is already harsh for me. 22"??? I can't even imagine the quality of the ride. Maybe I'm getting old. I missed the look of the 20" but love the ride of the 18".

I'm glad you posted this as I have been wondering if I could put 18's on and still get a nice smooth ride. I have never ridden in a car with 20's but I can only imagine how they must ride and I definetly wouldn't go that big for the same reason. My can probably doesn't have as large tires to begin with. Would I be smart to go with 17's for my gen 5 if I want good ride quality? The wheels are looking good!
