I bought 02 for $1000 from a private party that was hit in the front. It came with a clear title. It runs and drives. I am going to update the front end to an 05. I will post pics for you guys to show you what it takes for the conversion.

I'm interested in seeing your work on this project. Sounds pretty heavy duty. How much are you going to be doing yourself? Will you post pics and details as it progresses?
I am doing everything. It actually is a pretty easy fix. The damage to the car looks worse than it really is. The radiator support will be welded on today. I was planning on showing the rebuild to you guys. I guess I have to post pics thru a website.
i am glad you are taking up this project. that will be an awesome accomplishment sir. but yeah, cop some staggered Fabulous profound 19's, fightex coilovers, trust exhaust, blitz intake, air spencer squash, twin-turbo 7M-GTE, signal auto windshield banner, option2 rear sticker slanted where the exhaust cutout is, and fuzzy dice in the mirror. you'll be straight JDM yo.
get a photobucket account and post them here by clicking the yellow icon with what looks like mountains on it. run your curser over it and it says "insert Image"
I got the damaged raditor support off and the drivers side frame rail pulled back into position, everything lines up perfect. The 06 headlights and bumber will be here on next tuesday. I will post pics when they are installed.
wow youre already making great progress on this....seems like it looked alot worse than it actually was! you really got yourself a bargain there
keep us posted on the progress!
I can see that this project is going to benefit a lot of people here who will be needing some know how to modify their front end at some point...thanks for the pics...and keep us posted...keep those pics coming in...looks like u know what ur doing...cant wait to see the end product!!
Thanks guys, I got really lucky on finding the car. I bought the car about a month ago. I started to work on last week. I have about 12 hours into it so far.
I saw it sitting in front of another shop (not a body shop) for about a month. I stopped in to ask about a month ago. It's a long story, I made an offer to the shop guy, he called the female owner, and she took it. The nice thing about is the is the fact that it was not hit on the frame rail. It was hit in the reinforcement bar that bolts to the frame rails. That made the damage look worse. It makes it an easy fix. Just replace the radiator support, the hood, bumber, fender, etc.
I am going to use CAPA ceritified aftermarket body parts. So far the have fit pretty good.
I will keep you posted.
So are you gonna use the 96 for some parts for the 02 if they fit? Nice work straightening the frame - you wasted no time in making this look like a real car again! How did you straighten the frame? From the pictures it looks like you work in /had the car at a body shop? Where are you getting your parts?
Here are some pics of the wife's 96 Coupe after it got hit by a 05 ford superduty. We bought back from the insurance company for $600 (10% of the book value). I bought a door from the wrecking yard, and the fender, headlight, and bumber cover are aftermarket.
