What other tire sizes can I put on the stock alloy rims to get a more firmer ride and better cornering?

Sounds like the stock tire choice is nice. 60 is a giant side wall, so you'll get nice ride quality and 215 is a nice width.

toyo versados!

went from the stock michelins...garbage the belt inside moved outta place after about 50 000 KM. also the tire guy said it was starting to go outta shape (we know the tire guy well so he wouldnt screw us over) Also when driving after a rain or when the road is wet...lets say i want to turn in the intersection and there is a car comming. I give it a bit more gas and the michelins usually always chirps/squeels (makes me look like a ricer:P) but with the toyo's i have not seen it do that.

I like the color of your car

The rims are nice, but IMO they would look better if they were larger, such as 17's or 18's, but I know you fancy ride comfort.

Stock size is 215/60/16.

Can I put 215/55-17 on the stock 16" alloy wheels of my 2002 camry XLE?

I did check the tire calulator and with 215/55/17, my speedometer will be 0.6% too slow. But that is almost nothing.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
215/60-16 5.1in 13.1in 26.2in 82.2in 771 0.0%
215/55-17 4.7in 13.2in 26.3in 82.7in 767 0.6%

But is there a way to check if it is WRONG to fit 215/55/17 on the stock 16" alloy rims?

It won't fit. It's like fitting a popcan into a coffee can. It'll go straight through.

16" tires have to be mounted on a 16" rim. 17" tires will have a bead that is 1" too big. The tire will not stay on the wheel.

Tires can only be mounted on a wheel with a matching diameter.
