Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
no i remember when i was purchasing mine, there is a different part number on them for sure. just go buy eibachs, they are the same as trd's (trd is rebranded eibach) and will not cost you as much. toyota charges a heap of extra $$$ for their little three letter sticker and red paint. If eibachs are too expensive, buy tein, slightly cheaper but also good springs and many guys on here are happy with them.
i can't find '02 TRD springs, unless i order them direct from my dealer for too much money..i've emailed a few places and they only have 04-06...So i'm going to get Eibachs! Tirerack has them for 209 +shipping.
If you find them cheaper let me know please! I'm ordering them this week sometime
I wonder what the difference is between the 03 and 04.
this would really help if you had used the search...myself as well as greylock have gone through this before. the gen 5 pre 04 uses a straight spring where as the 04 and up to end of gen 5 utilizes a tappere spring. this is why noobs get flammed on.
No problem on the flaming, I did try the search, I went thru 3 pages of "TRD springs".
I could not find the answer or anything that would answer my question.
Maybe refine your search to lowering gen5....and you'll have to go back...but either way i said..gen 5.5 wont work on gen 5. gen 5 pre 04 excluding 04 will not work wth gen 5.5. and vica versa. Greylock had to find out the hard way. IT might work if you buy the strut from the gen 5.5 and vica versa so it could fit correctly..but not worth the money.
i bought my springs off my aftermarket car parts guy here in toronto (soundspeed). they cost me something like $320CAD plus tax. not a steal, but definitely not a rip off either. the Teins were slightly cheaper in the $280CAD range.
