5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm looking to get new rims for my camry. I know that 19's look better, but what are the negatives about them? Is the ride much worse than 18's? Do they bend easily? Would 225/40/19 be better than the usual 225/35/19 as far as ride and durability?
I try to get as much height as possible, to get the comfort and a little more cussion for the rims and so ill go with 18's on 225/45/18 or 19's and probably 40's
19s look better, 18s are a better ride for sure, also in 18s you have a few stock rim options to consider ...lots of lexus rims that can fit your camry

I had 19's on my CadillacSTS with 40-profile tires and stock suspension, and now I have 18's on my Camry with 50-profile tires and TRD springs. The 19's definitely looked better, and because the car had the stock suspension, they were more comfortable than my Camry setup. With 18's on the Camry, I needed to lower the car to get the look I wanted, which in turn added to the harsher ride. if I had 19's on the Camry, maybe I wouldn't have needed the drop. So you have to balance what you want the car to look like versus how it will ride.
Also, 19" tires are very expensive. 18" and 20" are both cheaper, with a wider variety of tires to choose from. The 19's cost me $300/tire, but you can get good 18" tires for $150 (and I even paid $87 for my BF Goodrich TA-KDWS)
