5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I got a set of 2500K Nokya H11 foglight bulbs from eBay last week but didn't get a chance to put them on until today. I went to my mechanic/friend to do oil and filter, and we jacked up the car so I did the foglight bulbs.
I like the look during the day. It remains to be seen how they are at night. Yesterday there was damn serious fog up near my cottage - too bad I didn't have these on then.

401 and 400 will be especially dead places.
Tomorrow I gotta drive out to Ottawa with my dad in the afternoon. We gotta move my sister back to Toronto cuz she's done university masters there. On Saturday, we are picking up a reserved 17-foot U-Haul truck in Ottawa.
We will try to get back to Toronto by midnight; unload some funiture. And then on to Barrie to unload the rest at the cottage.
That's total usage of the 401, 416, 417 and 400. I anticipate we'll move at an average speed of 30.
Anyway...back on topic...I'll post night pics tonight of the fogs.

You should get some night pics. Also, I heard they burn hotter than they should so if you put something like Lamin-X on your fogs because you're not satisfied with the yellow, they will burn. They are advertised as burning at 55w but they really burn at 80w.

I don't think they burn at 80W. That's just what the output looks like.
Just like PIAA advertises their XtremeWhite Plus bulbs as taking 55W but looking like 110W.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt these are more than 55W like stock.

I had the 2500K Nokya Hyper Yellow in my old '05 XLE as well and they look really good (in my opinion). Perhaps you may give them a try in yours.
I like those Nokya so much I have them in the fog lights for all my cars from the '05 to the '07 Camry and ES350.

Alright, I've been using my Lamin-X + Luminics bulb combo for three weeks and did not acquire any burn marks - BUT the combo was not flawless either.
I've recently installed 5300k HID and wanted the fogs to match my headlights, so I decided to remove the Lamin-X and restore my original hyper bright SPP bulbs (since no one claimed them). But upon doing so, I notice the Lamin-X films were melted onto the lens of the foglights
I had to peel off the film, leaving mass traces of residue. I used the removed film's "sticky side" (it's sticky now because that side have been melted to the point of being sticky) on the lens to remove the residue out. When I look at the Luminics bulbs on the connector, they are stamped 75 watts, not 55 watts as advertised! If I were to leave the fogs on for 1 hr in heavy traffic, I would've been fawked.
So there you go. Hope this has been informative. I'm gonna eventually replace the OEM fogs with some ion yellow Modulo fogs f0 sh0 . On the mean time, I will order some clear Lamin-X and put it over the foggies and some optic blue Lamin-X for the headlights.
EDIT: If you guys want to use the Lamin-X plus yellow bulb combo, I recommend using the bulbs from SPP (Supreme Power Parts).
* Note that Luminics and Nokya are pretty much the same thing.*
he never even mentioned that he had the slightest desire to add vinyl onto his cover... the vinyls burnt because of the hot housing...and housings get hot no matter wat the wattage
what he should be worried about is his harness, not some vinyl
