My 4 yrs old camry has a minor leak at the bottom, can an engine oil sealer in the market do the job?

It could, but at the next oil change it would come right back and you would have to do it again.

It's a quick fix, but you're just putting off the inevitable.

It should work and swell up the lines and prevent the leak, or at least slow it down, but fix it eventually.

According to my mechanic, it take 3 to 4 days to fix the gasket problem, he need dismentle the engine block and change the gasket. It cost a bomb.

Hope the sealer do the trick..

what camnub said. I'd bite the bullet and fix it (myself) at the earliest opportunity. Where is the leak? You say the bottom, sorry but what does that mean? Oil pan? (not too hard and reasonably cheap to fix yourself if you know a little bit about wrenching). Rear main bearing seal? (The transmission has to come out.) Front main seal? (The timing belt components, covers, and crank pulley have to come off - but it beats pulling the trans any day.)
Like you say, the mechanic is gonna charge you a small fortune to fix this. If you know how and can do it, fix it yourself. Wash tne engine with simple green til it is clean as new - clean it twice if you have too - then pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from. Then replace the gasket or seal.

Wait, do you have a headgasket issue? Because get that fixed quickly. And it shouldn't take 3-4 days.

Just my 2 cents - snake oil soluitons rarely last long and sometimes cause more trouble than what you had to begin with.

Hope it works.

The leak seem to be coming from the right hand side where the v belt situated. The leak is very minor, hardly notice in drop of engine oil volume. But this part of the engine is cover with oil when changing of oil engine last week. The mechanic said there was a camry also have this problem but mine is very minor at this moment.
