Does transmission issue affect Japan built Camry V6 also?

Does transmission issue affect Japan built Camry V6 also or is it limited to US built Camry V6s only? I just bought a Japan built used 2007 Camry XLE V6 with 18,000 on and I'm wondering if the previous owner had this issue. I'm thinking if he did have this issue then he probably had it addressed. I wonder if my local Toyota dealer would provide me with service history on this vehicle. I have not notice any issue with transmission yet. However, I did notice strange clicking noise when I turn my steering wheel all the way to one side. Not very severe though.

Yes Japan models are affected as well. You just need to check if your VIN number falls prior to the range listed on the TSB for the shift flare, the TSB's are stickied on the top of the forum but I'm feeling nice so here's a direct link....
