5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was disappointed to not find the Camry on this list. I know there are 200,000k Camry's out there but it is not a good bet it will make it to 200,000k.
It really depends on how you drive, if you do mostly highway driving then it shouldnt be too hard to reach 200K miles. Now if you dont drive much and all the driving you do is city, then it most likely wont.
My parents have an '03 Camry I4 with 120K miles, and I have no doubt that it will reach 200K miles. As for my car, I have 8600 miles so far so it would only take about 7-8 years since I drive almost 26K a year.
250 000km+ (mayB clsoe to 300 000) 4 years(I4), highway/city mix lotta driving, basic maintenance-oil changes ( not always as per schedule ) , tire changes, rotors once, brake pads.
was still working. It'll last(Gen5), dunno bout these new ones tho, tranny and shifting, rumbling seems weird, getting TSB for ECM calibration applied soon hopefully.

Camrys should definitely be on this list,I know of many 200,000 plus camrys.Even here in vermont where we coat the roads with salt half of the year, there are alot of late 80s and early 90s camrys running around, they are one of the ruggedest cars out there.i remember a Toyota ad some years ago that quoted the percentage of camrys manufactured 10 years ago that were still on the road and i remember the number was impressive.I think the ad ran in national geographic.can anybody find it?
edit:since when is 'money' an expert on cars?

How about buying a nicely used vehicle every 5 years, with
80K miles on it?
You bring up a good point, however, the survey didn't account for that.
But it's safe to say that most Toyota's shouldn't have a problem with reaching that plateau, given that their owners follow maintenance schedules religiously.

Of course buying a new car every 5 years or driving
the same one for 225K miles are two extremes.

It s hard to tell if a used car has not been abused. Tons of drivers are driving their commute cars like sports cars, flooring it whenever they can. Some ppl don't keep records of the maintenance done to the car before the 80k making even harder to tell if the car was gently used. I personnaly like to buy new and follow the maintenance religiously.
