As longs as the SE rims have the TPMS then it won't affect it at all.
As for the ride.... rim vs. rim no real difference you can notice. It's more in the sidewall aspect ratio and the tire. If you put a lower profile tire on your XLE rim then you may notice it being a little firmer but hardly. Unless you go to a 35-45 series.. then with the stiffer sidewall you'll feel the difference.
You should be fine and not even notice a thing with the SE rims and tires.
I put my SE rims on my wife's 2005 Sienna LE van and they look great and work fine. (she didn't lik ethe bling bling rims that I got for her van so I swapped them with my SE). Been meaning to post the pictures but haven't gotten around it yet.

Can I still use TPMS sensors from my 16" XLE rims on my new 17" SE rims?
Is it a simple matter of transplanting the sensors and resetting the system by hitting the button in the glove compartment? Or are these calibrated for specific rims or tire pressure? Thanks for your help.
You can switch them from rim to rim, and reset the system.

What if you get a different set of TPMS sensor from another Camry?
Do you have to take it to a dealer and have them reprogrammed for your car? Or does resetting them do the trick here also? Do these things have batteries in them? I wonder if they need to be replace every few years or something?

I think you need to have the dealer reprogrammed them because each TPMS come with a serial number. And that's how the ECU recognize the TPMS through those serial number. About the batteries, I read some where it said the batteries will last 4-5 years but I don't remember the website that I read it. You know...old age.

Is it possible to put 50 profile tires on 17" SE rims? Will this affect ride quality noticeably?
If possible, what size tires should I buy? 215/50R17 or 225/50R17.
Thanks for your help.
