i just got home from dropping my gf off at her house.. i was literally a block away from getting home when a cop pulls me over.. mind you its on a side street by my house off of a main road.. so he pulls me over, young little chap.. probably right around my age(22).. asks me for the usual, then asks me why my tint is so dark.. im like, uhh i dont know lol.. and he asks me, "well is this your car?" and i answer yes.. then he said "ok let me get my thing"(as in light machine gun).. almost forgot to give him my DEA(Detectives Endowment Association) card.. when he comes back with his light gun, i hand it to him and say, will this help?.. he takes it, asks who i got this from and told him my aunt works for the DEA.. he reads the tint at 18%.. (the factory glass must have 2% on it or the actual tint isnt exactly 20%).. either way, he tells me he will be right back.. comes back and hands me my license, reg and DEA card and tells me to "get the tint taken care of"... *phew*..
i need to talk to my optometrist and have him write up a note saying my eyes are sensitive to the light.. thats one of the few legit excuses that really work, right?
that's actually a good idea. it should be a good enough reason. And i think i'll do the same. My eyes are sensative to bright light. Am actually conisdering getting 20% on the front side windows, instead of the 35% i have now.
i really feel 20% is very classy.. 35% is not enough, especially on hot days.. it may seem a bit dark at night if all your windows are closed and the sunroof is closed too.. but i dunno.. def gonna try the optometrist route.. DEA card worked well though..
Does anybody KNOW a legit/legal reason/excuse for dark window tint? I actually do have a medical condition that involves my eyes so if there is a legit reason, it may apply to me.
why were your windows up? or did he ask you to put them back up?
thats something ive always been wondering, if they ask you to roll them up to test must you?
If you say NO your not putting them up to be tested down here in Miami you will have a bunch of squard cars there in a matter of minuites plus a K-9 dog going threw everthing in the car plus you will be tied up for hours. You might end up in jail for the night depending if the officer is in a bad mood .In most cases they are.
Saying no to ANY request and you are going to have a ton a problems.Do you really think their going to say OK and have a good night?
BTW down here the average person always has their windows up all the time and they only open them for parking garages and tolls all year long in this jungle heat.
