is this too wide for 2002 XLE with stock alloys?

Also I am not cutting down on sidewall going to this so I guess I will NOT gain any better/stiffer handling? right?

the deal is i want lower profile tires without changing my stock rim and without throwing off my speedo too much.

What are the dimensions of the stock wheels? Offset?

No, it won't handle any better. It may actually handle worse.

You aren't getting a lower profile tire if you keep the stock wheel diameter and tire diameter. You are just changing the width and the aspect ratio, which is the percentage of the width.

I have 235MM wide tires on my '06 Camry with no problems at all.
