Gen5 My latest subtle mod to the Camry. Only cosmetic.

I recently added smooth locks to my Formula and really liked how it cleaned up the look of the lock cylinders. http://www.phantomss.com/smoothlock/

As I have the driver side lock cylinder covered on the Camry, I only really needed to cover the deck lid lock cylinder. I took a license plate screw cover that was chrome and cut it down to fit in the lock cylinder hole. I then stacked a few layers of 3M double sided tape to the back side to hold it in place. It's nothing big, but I think it looks better than it did.

Here's the pic before:

Here's a pic after (car is dirty):

I just thought that I would share it, maybe someone else is interested.

You can buy the SmoothLock in the link and have it painted.

I used them on my Formula and they were perfect. I didn't have to paint them because they come in black already.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I will get this for sure since my trunk lid is chrome like yours!
Edit: I read your post again, I realized you did a little DIY mod on the trunk lid cover using the license plate cover. I will copy that. Thanks.

Very original TRD badge you have there. BTW, nice plugs. All the little mods combined make a big difference.

Thanks guys.

I made the trunk emblem myself. It's a Toyota emblem, a TRD emblem, white, and red paint. My own design.

I'll never see another Camry with my emblem, or my grills.

dude, that looks great, actually i like it and i'm gonna do it. my trunk lock cylinder is kinda greasy/dirty due to the rustproofing spray i do every year and i never use the key, just the remote.
clean, cool mod, props for a cool DIY and i am loving your rear toyota decal, go production with them, and put em on ebay/for sale section.

I had you figured out from the start. I figured that you liked "outties" and not "innies".

Thanks johnnyzee but it takes way too long to make that emblem. I'd never make any money.
