2 problems I have.....
1) From doing research on here, it appears I have the TSB Intermediate Steering Shaft Assembly problem. One dealer replaced my steering column and the problem went away (had it done @ 11,000 miles). Car is now at 48,000 and wonder if steering column replacement would have addressed the TSB noted above.
2) The more annoying problem is the driver's side wheel/brakes/suspension. After the vehicle is driven for a while, a grinding, clunking noise resonates when you apply the brakes. It makes the noise at the same speed the wheel is going. That is, faster speed, the noise is a highly repetitive noise. As you go slower, the noise is constant but less frequent. Also, when the car is parked, getting in and out of the car creates a grinding, rubbing noise from the same wheel. One dealer said I needed new rear brakes/resurface rotors which was done. Oddly enough, at 35K miles, I had that done (under warranty) but the grinding sound didn't go away. The same dealer said it had to do with the suspension (after taking it back 3 times) and the noise DID go away for about 6 weeks. It has since returned and remains prevalent as the car "warms up." A friend who is a body mechanic, suggested that it is a strut bearing, or something to do with the suspension, not the brakes. What's weird is that my front brakes have not been replaced and I am on my second set of rear brakes.
Sorry for the lengthy post.....hope you can shed light on these problems.
Just another thought, I have the extended Platinum warranty.....would this be covered under the warranty?

If your front brakes aren't working correctly, you don't want to find out when you have to slam on your brakes for something. I'd take it to another shop if the one you use cannot fix the problem.
As TRD VVTi noted, it's impossible to diagnose a problem like this over the internet. I'm not sayin it's your brakes, but you may want to make sure they're working correctly if you're not 100% sure already.
I wasn't asking you to diagnose the problem....I was merely stating what my problem was and inquiring if anyone had anything similar. For instance, at some point, someone asked about the popping sound in the steering column. Low and behold, someone did have the same experience and it was covered under a TSB.
Perhaps next time I post, I should specify that I realize you aren't driving the car and am also aware that you cannot hear, see or touch my car....eventhough it is obvious.

Actually, the part that got me was your smartass statement that followed:

Nobody had a similar problem apparently. It sounds like a very odd situation.
