5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
My mom has a 2005 Camry LE, when we were looking at it, on the sheet it said LE and from looking inside and out it looks like an LE, but in the back it only says Camry. This leads me to believe that it is not an LE but a Camry Standard, I was wondering if somebody could tell me the clear differences between the Camry Standard & the Camry LE ,and also if somebody has pictures of the exterior and interior of a Camry Standard that would help also. I mean my mom's car looks like every other Camry LE out there except for the missing LE badge, so I'm thinking perhaps it just fell off? Hope you can help out, thanks

you can always buy one on ebay and stick it on there --
j/k -- best way to find out is do a car fax report search on the vin number. it'll be about 30 bucks, but hey better than nothing.
another is to go to the dealer and ask them to do a vin number search on the car - they have free carfax reports.
hopefully you'll get what you're looking for.

Oh I see, I mean it's not THAT important....just wanted to know if there was a big difference that could allow me to just rule out the possibility that this is a Camry standard (for some reason I feel better knowing it's an LE as opposed to the Standard lol) For some reason I remember the Standard having black plastic side-view mirrors, am I making that up?
The LE has keyless entry and a power driver's seat. The standard doesn't.
Well we have the power seat, figured that could have been an option package on the standarD? but yea that was one of the reasons I am pretty sure it's an LE
If it bugs you that bad, You can order the LE badge on Ebay or from an autobody shop pretty cheap, (the autobody shop will have better matching badges) I replaced the EX on my dads Accord after it was stolen no big deal, just 3M double stick tape on the backing.
Debadge the car.
I think for the gen5 like the gen6 standard/ce doesn't have color keyed sidemirrors? Someone correct me.
I believe all the Camry's have color keyed mirrors. The only difference between the CE and LE (at least for the Gen 6), is that the CE has no remote entry and no power seats.

You are correct about Gen 6 differences.
For Gen 5, I think the standard comes with a donut while others have full size spare but that is easily replaced.
Since you are talking about the CE V.S. LE and differnt options did you know. The SE has standard front and rear sway bars and stiffer springs than the other models. The CE and LE have springs for a softer ride and I don't know about the sway bars maybe an option. This is true for the 2008 SE not sure about other years. No matter which Camry you have its a fair guess that you have a good car.

I knew that the SE had a V brace in the rear and different springs, but I never heard about different sway bars.
