This morning I have discovered a nail in the sidewall of one of my tyres. I went the to tyre shop and got it patched. Well the mechanic said that it is advisable to change the tyre or else it might burst.
It should have never been patched in the first place. The guy that patched it is extremely irresponsible. Your sidewall could literally burst at any moment. Put the spare on the car and get a new tire is the safest advice that I could give you.

All of the shops around hear won't touch anything on the outer area of the tread and up onto the sidewall.
I have checked the hole is actually nevery near the tread and it is not like in the middle of the side wall. It is about less then 1/2 inch from the tread.

Okay, I just realized that you are in Malaysa, so the shops arn't as concerned about getting sued. They don't patch anything here even close to the side of the tire. I've had to replace 2 or 3 tires with nails in the tread about 1" from the edge. It was a simple puncture. Boy was I mad the 1st time. Each time it happened, I talked to the service guy and was told the same thing. Patching a tire anywhere close to the sidewall doesn't hold. Also, that is the area of the tire that flexes the most, and is under the largest stress. Punctures in this area weakens the tire so there is good chance the tire will loose pressure and fail (rip apart).
