How much did you guys pay for install? Do you recommend bringing it in to Toyota so they'll cover warranty for it?
Going to Toyota to get it installed is a waste of money IMHO. Any monkey who works on cars can install a set of lowering springs. I got it done in about 1.5 hours for less than $200. Go to the dealer and you're looking at twice that along with a longer wait. If you want piece of mind however, then going to the dealer is the only way to go.

you can rough it and drop it yourself like I did =P
9 hour install since it was my first time diving into the pit. My friend who's a subaru guru for suspension overlooked the work as well as helped me out a CRAPLOAD. he taught me a lot of stuff.
I just also installed splashguards (fronts only for now) and my front strut tower bar. new pics are comin' in a new thread as to not highjack this one =P
Anyway, I think the best way is to do it on your own, you get the satisfaction that your running on your own muscle. But no disrespect to the people who got it dropped by retail stores, any shortcut to get it done is applauded. It's one hard job, especially with MANUAL spring compressors... yes manual! =P
I didn't think my mechanic was fair, so I went with my friend and myself -- otherwise I'd gone to a mechanic as well =).

I remember dropping my 1st car. 1970 corolla. I didn't even have spring compressors. I just had my friend sit on the front end, I tied the spring up with rope and pulled the strut. The replacement spring was so much shorter, It dropped right in.
Don't do stuff like that though. Thats pretty ghetto.
Thanks for the info guys! I guess my target price is somewhere in the low $200's shipped, and about $120-$150 installation. I'm also looking for some nice set of rims/wheels. I know that a lot of members here are selling theirs. I'm not looking to spend much, and I don't care if they're used, as long as they've got low miles on them. I figured, since I have a set of 17" OEM chromed rims, I can probably sell the set for $500. So I'm looking to spend no more than $800-$900 for the replacement, 18", 19", or maybe even 20". Any offers ?
