Does camry need a V rated tire?

2002 Camry XLE.

I see that my local discount tire has the yokohama avid H4S (did not list the V4S online). The h4s itself was $93 a tire

Now does my camry need a V rated tire. ? Have michelin mxv4 plus X green... now which is V.

Will road noise increase if I go with H rated?.

I have those tires, the H4S. Eh since its really my first pair of tires I can't really compare. Road noise at what speeds? 80+ Yeah um 60 is eh. But I got used to it.

My 2002 calls for S rated - just ask the tire guy to find out what it calls for. If you get a tire of a lower speed rating you might get radial pull on the front and thats very annoying. So get what it calls for or higher unless you are just flat broke.

I have an 03 camry LE I4. I have yoko tires. ZR rated cuz they're the ultra high performance series. Do I need to have ZR rated? No. Not even close. But they were a good price and a nice tire. Smooth ride. Its all basically personal preference of the ratings. I do some hard driving with my car, high speeds and fast turns. When I got these tires, cornering was noticable, i could take turns about 10-15 MPH faster than my previous tires and with these i'm even able to hug the inside line comfortably. Its really up to you what rating you want. But if you do some hard driving, then sure go for a higher rating. Given our cars will never reach 180mph, but its ur choice.

EDIT: Forgot to touch on road noise. I had H rated tires before these, and they really weren't that loud. Nowhere near as loud as the ones I have now, but then again my new tires are bigger.
