5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've Googled (2008 Camry rear sway), and searched and can't find aftermarket sway bars for an 07-08 Camry. Is there one? I got to take an V6 LE for an extended test drive by myself the day I ordered mine and it pushed/understeered way too much. I'd like to have a rear sway ready when mine gets here to fix that; along with the TRD springs and Kosei K1 18's and Nero tires I've already ordered.

Only Front Strut bar is out there but they are not TRD.
So far only Epsilon, me and a few members here have them on our car. Click on my signature for pictures.
No rear sway bar that I am aware of.

I hope there is one soon; this car desperately needs it.
btw- I am looking for a sway bar, not strut bar
I know those of who own Camry's and are enthusiasts is rare, so performance parts are going to be few. I mostly just want to fix what I think is the Camry's weak spot, the suspension. There seems to be no sway bars and the tire selection for the required sizes is pretty weak too.

lammy - know where i can purchase that front strut that you guys got? i've been checking the bay and haven't been successful...the one that says camry on it.
also do you have to tighten to a certain ft/lb with a torque wrench when you install it?

I bought it on ebay from the seller Critical88. He is in Asia (I think Hong Kong)
You can try contact him from ebay. He only has limited quantity. So everytime he post them for sale only 2 or 3 available and they go fast.
Torque setting for Front Strut bar: On Gen 6's it's 63 ft/lbs for the three mounting nuts and 52 ft/lbs for the strut rod nut itself.
I got this info from TRDVVTi.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I wish there were a full blown TRD suspension... i.e. springs, shocks, sways...
I'm very dissappointed in the springs, seeing as they weren't even developed for our cars (and even so, work best with the v6) but are reused solara springs... How hard is it to get weight ratios and plug it into a computer to get some decent spring rates?

jw why there would need to be a specific torque setting for the strut bar
