5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i have the 9006 silverstar ultras and i love them.....have had them for 6 months now and had no issues....they emit a very pleasing and powerful light that is actually brighter than oem bulbs....for what they cost, theyre a great headlamp!
It's an illusion. The bluish tint makes the color temperature look higher and therefore giving the illusion that it's brighter. Sylvania XtraVision are the brightest bulbs from Sylvania that you can get. They're basically Silver Stars without the gimicky bluish coating on the glass for about half the price.
if you want the most power from halogens, do a 9011 HIR conversion to fit ur low beam. it has over 2000 lumens. i have it, and it spreads the light far and wider.
So, the 9006 will interchange directly with the H11 bulb but produce a brighter light? The Sylvania page seems to indicate that the OEM Halogen H11 produces 1250 lumens +/- while the Xtravision only produces 1000 +/-. There must be more to this story, but I'm not a lighting guy.

I am using them, both 9005 and 9006. I think they are brighter than OEM lamp. If you are looking for good illumination, I think they do their job well. However, personally I am not impressed as I found the light very yellow. The 9005 is kinda yellow too except in high-beam which I almost never used. I have been using them for over 8 months and no problem was found, but it is not something that I would recommend. I prefer Nokya, Polarg, etc.

No, H11 and 9006 (same goes for 9005) are not interchangeable. I don't know where you got that idea. H11 bulbs are more efficient than 9006; the output more light with the same amount of power.

I think you meant HIR 9012's for the low beams. The HIR 9011's are for the high beams. I have the HIR 9011's for high and I like them better than the Silverstar's.
i've used Silverstars in my last two cars...in my Camry i have the Ultra's and i love them. But only in the lowbeam (mainly because they blew and i had to replace the OEM bulbs). No problems in either of my cars either.

No, i meant putting the 9011 [9005 highs] modified to fit your low beams like the 9006>9005 conversion. It produces over 2000 lumens and it's very impressive at night.

I just got the same exact ones for my high beam/DRL lights. It's a bit brighter and wider then the OEM Osram bulb, it is pretty nice, but a bit overpriced in my opinion.
