2004 Camry Check Engine Sign

Hi All:
2004 Toyota Camry LE 4 cyl, with 47K miles on it, has started to show a check engine sign on dash board. I know for sure that Air Filter is due for a change. What else could be the reason for this sign to show up? Thanks in advance for yout time and insights-

Go to Autozone, they'll pull the code for free.

Autozone is NOT a Godsend by any means, but they're huge and do offer a few free services. They're staffed by your typical idiot teenagers for the most part, but they have access to equipment that I don't...

As stated above by others, you need the code to know what system to diagnose.

The air filter is not a likely cause.

doesn't "partsource" here in canada do the same thing? i believe they do, or you can always do the ghetto approach... buy a code reader from canadian tire, use it, then return it.

I have my own, but to read the occasional code, the buy / return thing works fine.
