'08 Camry

Hello all. The wife just bought an '08 XLE. I am curious to know has Toyota formally fixed the 6 spd tranny issues that the ;07s had?

You tell us! There are not yet enough 08 Camry V6 owners on here yet in order to form the answer.

But I would imagine that the 08s won't be as troublesome as the 07s were specifically when it comes to something like this.

Welcome to the forum.
Just enjoy your new car. Why worry when you don't have a problem. (yet)

My May,2007 build XLE has no tranmission flare problems. Though, my sliding armest slides forward way too easily. Let us know if yours does, too.

I dont know how exactly Toyota operates, but since they're are no changes between the '07 and '08 (that i'm aware of), it seems like Toyota would just continue manufacturing Camry's the same way they did at the end of 2007, except they just call them 2008's.

i work at a dealer and ive only hard of one tranny issue with the 1000 or so camrys sold....i mainly hear of and see the trannt TSB repairs for the "hesitating" 07 I-4 models,,,i know all 08 I-4s have the fi already implanted, as such they arent nearly as bad as 07's for hesitation, so im sure they also quietlyadressed he TSB issu for the tranny flare on V6 models
as for 08 builds, i beleve toyota shut down production of camrys some time over the summer to solve the issue, and ive heard they resolved the issue on late 07 bd eary 08 builds....even though very very few 07 buyers actually had the issue, the fourm sites have blown it out of proportion
your camry should be safe and ready for a long, healthy life

they looked into it and said all Camry's built after that recall date were cleared of the problems.
