5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just purchased an 07 Camry SE. This dash noise coming from the stereo system is driving me nuts.
It intermittenly does a fairly loud single tick and click sound once awhile. I thought it was due to CD inside but also does it without CD. Anyone else come across this problem also?
Maybe something is loose behind the dashboard or something.
Thanks,
PS. Does it idle when on or driving.

I have the same problem when the road is not smooth. Every bump there will be a "tick" sound coming from the center console only when its cold.
They couldn't find it when I took it to the dealer.

Off topic, but how'd you get the SE V6 w/ navi at that price?

Just start dealing with the ticks and creaks, the dealership will never figure it out, they'll tell you they added foam and padding, but it never works...
My CE M/T has an annoying noise from the bezel (?) around the gear shift (the horizontal piece that goes from the cup holders to the cubby). I had removed it a couple times, but none of the clips are broken or nuthin'. It sounds likes its not seated completely and has a slight rattle. When I push on it to stop the noise it's doesn't seem to help all that much, but I'm almost positive that is where it is coming from.
I do not, however and thankfully, have a "ticking" around the windshield.
I can't stand those freggin' rattles and noises. No matter how loud the radio is, I always hear them and they always grate on my nerves.

I'm having the exact same problem you're having. I'm gonna let my dealer take a look at it this Saturday. I started to notice this since it got cooler in Atlanta.
"I had a ticking noise from the center dash near the windshield. I complained and the dealer dampened it on their first try successfully."
Do you know what the dealer did to eliminate the noise and how long the repair took?
Thanks.
Mike
The only thing I was told was that they stuffed some sort of "foam" sheets in there. I don't know anything about exactly where, how many sheets, etc...
