there is a brake booster line that runs from a rubber tube into a steel brake line right behind the engine block on typical 2az engines....disconnect this at the junction of the two tubes and dip the ubber tube into the bottle of seafoam, and it should suck the fluid into the engine, ad the car usues the braker booster system to convert vaccum from the engine into assiantance in the hydrulic brake system....be sure to use only 1/3 a bottle as specified on the box, and be sure to reconnect all lines and clean up after yourslef when done.
good luck.

I don't mind at all. You could have used the pic with the nice TRD oil and radiator caps though.

That isn't the optimum line to use when cleaning the intake though.

Oh well, I guess the OP didn't really want to know anyways...

i've always used the brake booster line as reccomended by seafoam
its a direct enyr into the engine....any vaccum line is suitable tho, and you can even put it through the gastank as well

Sea Foam recommends using the brake booster line for the Camry?

Please post that information. I would really like to see it.

I can understand that the Sea Foam can says to use the brake booster line. That's something that nearly every vehicle has in the same location. It's a generic or general recommendation that isn't application/vehicle specific.

There are better ways to get Sea Foam to clean the intake other than using a vacuum port at the base of the intake.

I've gone over this before in the Sea Foam post just recently...

EDIT: If Sea Foam says to use the brake booster vacuum line, how would you do that on a vehicle that has hydra boost?

seafoam reccomends using the brake booster line in general....i know on camry models were not supposed to induce seafoam into the throttle body, and it is reccomeneded that it ios induced somewhere after the throttle body
theres a few vaccum lines you can use...i just choose the brake booster for ease

I will use the vacuum hose for the vacuum switching valve.

It makes much more sense. Instead of cleaner being sucked into the base of the intake it will be pulled into the very top of the intake. That will ensure that all the intake runners get cleaned.

To me that makes a lot more sense.

TRD,
any picture of the vac line you are talking about on the vsv?

I would want to use that as your explanation made a lot of sense.

also whats the talk about the check engine light coming on after using Seafom? I'll get a minor stroke if that happens in my 2002 XLE I-4.
(Oh well I get my state inspection done then do seafom just in case)

btw, were to get a deal on a can of seafom. walmart did not have it.

The VSV vacuum line goes from the VSV to the bottom of the throttle body. The VSV is just behind the MAF. No, I don't have a pic.

Do the inspection first. The check engine light may come on (it will if you add the cleaner properly) for a missfire, rich condition, etc... After you're done with the cleaner just drive the car for a few miles. Then remove the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes to reset the ECU/PCM.

If you do the service and then reset the ECU, you will have to put many miles on the car before all the self tests can be performed and the ECU shows all the systems ready.

EDIT: For pics, just check the online manual.
