regarding a recall on the All-Weather Floor Mats. I haven't really paid attention to my mats, but they don't seem to bother me. I haven't had any issues with the mat interfering with the gas pedal either. I wonder what the new mats will look like though.
So do you have to return the original set to Toyota, or you can keep it while getting the new set from them?
Either way, you get a new set of mats I never use OEM mats myself, so this recall wouldn't bother me one bit
PS: It's a good practice to quickly adjust the floor mats regularly before setting off in the car. It is possible the driver's mat could shift due to feet movement, and I've encountered moments where the gas pedal got caught by the mat and kept on accelerating, but thankfully it wasn't going that fast and I stepped on the brakes hard, and snapped the mat out of getting caught. Now I regularly readjust the mat and the issue hasn't happen since

You do nothing. When the "redesigned" driver's side mat is released you will be notified to swap it at a dealer. Just read the letter, it's pretty self explanatory. It is only the driver's mat, nothing else that is affected.
Also, the thread linked above addresses the stupidity of the recall.

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize this topic was discussed earlier. I can always use a new floor mat.
All those who have the 2007 Camry SE i had to get a recall on the side floor panels when you open the door. You know the chrome part that says Camry SE. Well it turns out when you close the door it jams and water gets under the door hence causing it to rust. You won't notice anything until they lift the car up on the hoist and pay attention to under the doors all 4. Everyone should check this out with this type of vehicle. The only way to correct it is getting new panels which Toyota will have to provide, but it doesn't look as good, but it saves your car.

This is only in Canada and took place a while back. If you search, you can find a thread on it.
Thanks for the heads up, though.

Props to Toyota for trying to help the stupid people of the world.
I can't believe that they would issue a recall.
100% agreed. I love my all weather mats, and they are always secured using the provided hooks. I dont plan on trading them or switching them because they work fine. I am not concerned.

1) My Camry SE V6 didn't come with any chrome thing to begin with, so no danger.
2) People who still manage to get the accelerator press despite having clips on their driver's side mat are dumb.

I thought the door sill plates were standard on Canadian SE models? I know some had to wait for them since there was a stop due to the recall issue, but I thought you all got them eventually.
