5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've seen the levoc on white chocolate's car (or was it a razo?). it looks ok. as for the twist on shift knobs, the only thing that i'm sorta afraid of is someone knocking the shifter up or down accidentally, especially while driving, since the depress-button-to-shift thing would be gone.
also, i'm not too fond of relocating the o/d switch (unless there's a twist-on knob with an o/d switch on it).

yeah that's something i'm considering customizing... keeping the old O/D shift buttom and keeping the trigger on there.
I can drill a hole and then make a custom clip for the knob by shaving out the threads... I've been thinking about this for a while.

^yup... the custom clip is do-able. i'm just too weak for cutting the o/d wires and the accidential shifting issue. other than that, a knob could definitely fit on top of the stick.
btw, i put a shift boot at least- so one half of the shifter is the grey oem shifter thing, while the bottom half is booted. a boot can actually fit around the whole base (the thing with the p-r-n-d-2-l) pretty snug. sorta like how some automatics are nowadays (somewhat like the new benzes' autos).

if you do the custom O/D and shift button, could you take pics and do a simple DIY guide as well please?
hehe if I do it i'll make sure i make pictures, but I can tell you one thing right now -- you will definitely need some type of drill set or dremel set to drill through the metal and fit the right pieces in.
