WTF Is this?

Ok guys i've looked to see if I can find a pic of this part and I didnt have my camera at the time. But I have no idea what this thing is. Where the gear shift is(automatic gen5 LE) just above the selector(P,N,D,2,L) there's this little plastic cover. It has a little edge in it that you can stick a screwdriver in and pop it off. Underneath is this sort of button thing, I didnt press it cuz I didnt know what it did. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I cant find what it is in the manual anywhere! The cover is flush with the rest of the center console. Help?

It's to release the brake interlock in case the battery is dead.

You can move the shifter from park by depressing that button when you have a dead battery.

that is the button for the shift lock system
pressing it allows the gear selector to be moved when the battery is dead

If you ordered the extra convenience package it is the Auto pilot. Be careful, it inflates just like the auto pilot in Airplane!
